This article is the first in what I hope to be a short series on to the impact of farm profitability on affordability in the longer term. What happens if we see significant change – what are the consequences (and for who) if we don’t? What are the implications for young people or new Canadians who are trying to farm for a living? What does the continual escalation of land, equipment, and other factors mean for the family farm?
